Saving Settings
The Play Guess and Reveal app is designed to make it easy for the Host to organize games on a recurring basis. To that end, all the settings defined before starting a game are automatically remembered for your future sessions.
How saving works
As soon as the Host configures a game's options (from the Waiting Room settings screen), the app saves those choices in the background.
The next time you open the app to host a new game, you'll find exactly the same configuration ready to use. You don't need to perform any manual save action.
Saved settings
Saving applies to the entire game configuration, including:
- General settings:
- Points to win.
- Answering time granted after a buzz.
- Number of penalty points for a wrong answer.
- Elements to guess:
- Enabling or disabling fields (Artist, Title, Album, Year).
- Point distribution:
- The point scale assigned to each musical element.
- Automation:
- Enabling the ambient sound.
- The auto-resume playback setting.
Changing the saved configuration
Since saving is automatic and transparent:
- Any change made in the game settings overwrites the previous configuration.
- If you want to test new rules (such as a "sudden death" mode with lots of penalties) for a single session, remember to reset the settings to their standard values for your next game.
Technical note: These settings are stored locally on the Host's device. If you switch devices (for example, going from an iPad to a Mac) to host a session, the settings will revert to their default values the first time.
