Game Center & Achievements
Play Guess and Reveal integrates Apple Game Center to enrich your gaming experience, whether you are a host or a player. Authenticating with Game Center lets you sync your profile and unlock achievements throughout your games.
Connecting to Game Center
The app tries to connect to your Game Center account automatically at launch. If you are signed in:
- A Game Center icon is shown when setting up your profile.
- Your global game statistics are saved to your Apple account.
- You can compare your achievements with those of your friends.
Profile sync
Game Center integration makes creating your player profile easier:
Using your Game Center nickname
In your profile settings (from the home screen or during a game), you can choose to use your official Game Center nickname. If you change your nickname in your device settings, it will be updated automatically in the game.
Using your Game Center avatar
In the same way, you can import the avatar from your Game Center account. This gives you a unique profile picture that other players can instantly recognize during local network games.
Note: If you prefer, you can always turn these options off to choose a custom nickname, a color or a specific icon for each game.
Tracking Statistics and Achievements
The game records your performance in the background and rewards you for your dedication and your musical skills.
Recorded statistics
Game Center keeps track of several of your actions:
- Total points accumulated — all the points earned across your different game sessions.
- Correct answers — the number of times you found the artist, the title, etc.
- Number of buzzes — how quickly you speak up.
- Games hosted — for hosts who run sessions regularly.
Unlocking achievements
As you play, you will be able to unlock various achievements tied to your performance:
- Consistency — by taking part in a large number of games.
- MVP streaks — by earning the MVP title across several consecutive Rounds (the famous streaks).
- Sociability — by hosting games for a large number of different players.
You can review all of your unlocked achievements directly from the Game Center interface on your Apple device.
