Accessibility & shortcuts
Play Guess and Reveal is designed to be accessible to everyone, following accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA and Apple HIG). The app adapts to your needs, whether you are a player or a host.
Accessibility options
The app natively includes several features to make navigation and reading easier.
Dynamic Type
All text in the app automatically adapts to the text size preferences set in your device settings. Interface components adjust to ensure that text stays readable and is never truncated, even at very large sizes.
VoiceOver support
The app is fully compatible with VoiceOver:
- Complex elements, such as role cards or session lists, are grouped together to reduce noise while navigating.
- Buttons that use icons only have explicit voice labels.
- Complex controls, such as the music player's progress bar, can be adjusted directly with gestures (swipe up or down).
Keyboard shortcuts
For users on iPad (with a keyboard) or on Mac, keyboard shortcuts are available to make in-game actions easier and reduce the need for touch interactions.
Shortcuts for the Host
While running a game, the Host can control the music and the game from the keyboard:
- Space: Pause or resume playback of the current track.
- Cmd + → (Right arrow): Jump straight to the next Round.
Shortcuts for players
- Space: Trigger the buzzer. This shortcut lets players be extremely fast when they think they have the right answer, without having to touch the screen.
