Audio and sound effects management
The game includes a sound feedback system (buzzer effects, countdowns, etc.) designed to enhance immersion and provide clear information to the players and the Host during the game, without disrupting the music currently playing.
Game sound effects
The game uses synthesized sound waves (electronic beeps) to guarantee an instant, latency-free response, which is especially useful in moments where precision is key.
Player buzzer
When a player taps their buzzer:
- A visual signal appears on their screen.
- A short electronic sound plays to confirm that the system has registered the action immediately.
Countdowns and timers
During timed sequences (such as the answering time allowed for a question):
- Short beeps mark the passing of the final seconds.
- A longer, lower-pitched final sound signals that time has run out.
Device settings
The app's sound effects automatically adapt to the hardware and system settings:
- Overall volume — sound effects depend on your device's volume. Make sure silent mode is turned off if you want to hear the beeps and alerts.
- Smart mixing — sound effects are designed to layer over the music playback (via Apple Music for the Host) or over ongoing calls, reducing interference very slightly (audio ducking).
Troubleshooting sound issues
If you don't hear the sound effects (beeps, buzzer feedback):
- Check that your device's "Ring/Silent" switch is not set to silent.
- Increase the media volume on your phone or tablet.
- If the problem persists, relaunch the app to reset the game's audio engine.
Note: On iOS and tvOS devices, the audio system is optimized to let effects layer smoothly over any other existing audio stream.
