Reminders
Notifications warn you before an item expires. They are off to begin with: turning them on asks for system permission.
Options → Notifications.
Two styles, your choice
One reminder per item sends one notification per dated item, at the chosen time, ahead of its date. Precise, and chatty if your stock is large. Reminders cover all your sessions, and name theirs as soon as you have several.
A long press on the reminder (or a swipe, on the lock screen) offers two buttons, without opening the app: Used removes one unit from the batch, like the swipe in the Alerts tab; Remind me in 2 days moves the reminder to the chosen time two days later, without touching the batch's date — it will ring even if the date has passed in the meantime. Tapping the reminder itself opens the Alerts tab, on the batch's session.
One digest per day gathers everything into a single notification, such as "2 expired · 1 expires today · 1 expires within 3 days". It is only sent on days when something changes state: an item expiring, or entering the notice window. Without that rule, one forgotten expired item would repeat itself every morning.
Lead time
How many days ahead: same day, 1, 2, 3, 7 or 14 days. Three by default.
An item entered too late for its lead time is not lost: the reminder aims at the next slot still useful before the date.
Time of day
The reminder is sent at the time you set, 9:00 by default.
The iOS limit
iOS only keeps 64 pending notifications per app. TrackInvent reserves 60 of them and gives priority to the nearest deadlines. If items had to be left out, the screen says so.
Scheduled reminders shows how many are pending, and Reschedule now rebuilds the queue. It is rebuilt anyway whenever the stock changes.
If nothing arrives
Check the permission in the system settings. The screen offers an Open Settings button when notifications have been denied.
