Pain scale

The pain scale lets you assess and communicate the intensity of pain precisely, on a scale from 0 to 10. It opens from the main screen (Grids button or long press → Pain scale).

How it works

The screen is made of two elements:

• A large indicator button showing the current pain level ("Pain level: 0" to "Pain level: 10").
• A slider from 0 to 10, in steps of 1.

Move the slider to adjust the level. The selected value is shown as a large number above the slider.

Visual cue through color

The color of the button and the number changes gradually with the pain level, from green (low / no pain) to red (maximum pain). This gradient provides an immediate visual cue, in addition to the number.

The color gradient automatically adapts to the chosen color-blind theme (for example blue → yellow in Protanopia/Deuteranopia mode, cyan → red in Tritanopia mode). See the Accessibility & themes section.

Voice reading and history

As with the other grids, the selected level can be read aloud and is recorded in the local history, allowing caregivers to track how pain evolves over time.
